The Verdict
π‘ Salem Says:
If your priority is underwater life, stop looking. Book this.
Fort Arabesque has the best access to the coral reef in Makadi Bay. You walk in from the sand, swim 20 meters, and you are in an aquarium. No long jetty walk. The hotel itself is older, quirky (very strange architecture), and has amazing Italian food.

β The Good
- Reef: Turtles, rays, and endless coral right off the beach.
- Adults Zone: The "West Wing" is adults-only and very quiet.
- Food: Real pasta and pizza (Italian management).
- Beach: Very long, sandy stretch.
β The Bad
- Design: The building looks a bit... chaotic.
- WiFi: Hit or miss in the older rooms.
- Animation: Very soft (this is a pro for some).
π The House Reef
Most hotels in Hurghada require you to walk 300 meters on a pier to see fish. Not here.
The bay is shallow and protected from the wind. You can spot:
- Blue Spotted Rays (daily)
- Sea Turtles (often in the morning)
- Octopus and Squid (night snorkeling)
