The Verdict
Luxor Apartments are essentially full-sized flats (1 or 2 bedrooms) for the price of a hostel bed. You get a kitchen, a living room with a sofa, and privacy. The owners (Medhat and family) are legendary for being helpful without being intrusive.
✅ The Good
- Value: €20-25 per night for an entire flat. Unbeatable.
- Space: Separate bedroom and living room.
- Kitchen: Fridge, stove, kettle. Cook your own breakfast.
- Quiet: Located on a side street, so you sleep well.
❌ The Bad
- No pool. (But you can pay to use pools at nearby hotels).
- No sea view (it's in the city blocks).
- Dahar is "Local" (dusty streets, not a promenade).
- Furniture is "Egyptian Classic" (a bit gold and heavy).
🏠 The Apartment Tour
Unlike a hotel room where you trip over your suitcase, here you have room to breathe.
- Living Room: Usually has two sofas and a TV (Satellite). Good for chilling after diving.
- Kitchen: Fully equipped with gas stove, big fridge, and sink. Perfect for keeping your Beer/Water cold and making cheap meals.
- Bathroom: Shower pressure is usually strong (a rarity in Hurghada!).
📶 WiFi & Digital Nomads
Can you work from here? Yes. Verified
Unlike big resorts that share bandwidth among 1,000 guests, these apartments often share a router between just 4-5 units. It's stable enough for Zoom calls and Netflix. If you need 100% backup, the 4G signal (Vodafone/Orange) is very strong in this area.
📍 Location: Real Hurghada
You are in El Dahar. This is where the Governor lives. It's safer than safety.
It is not "pretty" like El Gouna. It has dusty streets and stray cats. But it has the best fruit market in town, the cheapest cafes, and real culture. To get to the beach, you take an Uber (20 EGP / €0.50) to "Social Club Beach" or simply walk 15 mins to the public beaches.
