Makadi Spa Hotel

A visual masterpiece on the Red Sea. Where architecture meets the reef.

πŸ‘³πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ Salem's Honest Review

Let's be honest: Makadi Spa Hotel is arguably the most beautiful building in Makadi Bay. The architecture is a mix of Islamic, Indian, and English Colonial styles. It is visually stunningβ€”domes, arches, pools that look like lakes.

It is a pure relaxation hotel. If you want animation teams shouting "Zumba!", go to Makadi Palace next door. Here, it is about lying by the infinity pool, looking at the sea, and pure peace. The house reef right in front is one of the best accessible reefs for snorkelers without needing a boat.

🐠 The Snorkeling is World-Class

You don't need a boat here. The coral reef starts literally steps from the beach. You will see turtles, rays, and thousands of fish. Make sure to read our Hurghada Diving & Snorkeling Guide to identify what you are seeing!

🧘 The Vibe

Zen. Quiet. Romantic. It attracts an older demographic (30s to 60s) who value peace. The "no children" policy is strictly enforced.

🍽️ Dining

It has some of the best Γ  la carte options in the chain. The Shimmers restaurant (Asian) and the Steakhouse are highlights. Service is formal and polite.

🏊 The Pools

Two massive pools. The infinity pool overlooking the Red Sea is the iconic photo spot. You will never fight for a sunbed here.

The Real Pros & Cons

  • Stunning architecture & gardens
  • Huge, spacious rooms
  • True adults-only silence
  • Access to Makadi Mall restaurants

⚠️ Things to Know

  • ❌ WiFi can be patchy in rooms (better in lobby)
  • ❌ It's a huge property (lots of walking)
  • ❌ Reef shoes are essential (coral entry)

Questions We Get Asked

Do I need water shoes?
Yes, absolutely. The entrance to the sea is rocky/coral. To protect your feet and the delicate coral, wear reef shoes. You can buy them at the hotel, but they are cheaper if you bring them.
Is it wheelchair friendly?
Partially, but not ideal. The resort is huge with many levels and steps. While there are ramps, navigating from the lobby to the beach can be a long journey for those with limited mobility.
What is the best room to book?
Ask for a Junior Suite with Sea View on a higher floor. The ground floor rooms have terrace access to the pool, but the upper floors get the cooling sea breeze and privacy.
