The Brutal Truth
Why stay here? Because it costs β¬25-30 a night (sometimes less!), it's clean, and it's home to the most famous expat bar in Hurghada. If you just need a bed and plan to dive/explore all day, this is the smart choice.
β The Good
- Incredibly cheap prices
- Surrounded by real Egyptian culture (Dahar)
- Peanuts Bar: Legendary nightlife spot
- Access to Empire Beach (5 min walk)
β The Bad
- Rooms are very basic (old TV, simple beds)
- Not on the beach (you have to walk)
- Food is edible but basic
- Pool is small and in the shade often
π₯ The Secret Weapon: Peanuts Bar
Even if you don't stay here, you will probably end up here. Peanuts Bar is an institution. Live music, cheap beer, free peanuts (throw the shells on the floor!), and a mix of divers, locals, and tourists. Staying at the hotel means you can stumble upstairs to bed.
π Location: Old Town Vibes
You are in El Dahar, the original downtown. This is where the fruit market is, the souqs, and the real local cafes.
It is NOT the glitzy tourist strip. It's gritty, authentic, and dusty. Walking around here, you'll see how Egyptians actually live. You can buy a falafel sandwich for 10 EGP (β¬0.20) just around the corner.
ποΈ The Rooms
Don't expect luxury. The furniture looks like it's from the 90s, the TVs might be boxes (some new flat screens appearing though), but the sheets are clean and the AC works. For the price of a hostel bed in Europe, you get a private room with ensuite here.

Check the rates. Seriously, they are sometimes lower than a meal in Europe.
